Men and Women Are Just Different – Part 2

Last week I did a post about how men and women differ when it comes to losing weight and working out.  I thought it would be better to get input from readers before I actually finished the post.  A lot of people replied to the post both men and women.

Dou You Hate Working OutOverall I would say that it would seem that women don’t like doing activities for fun if it’s going to get categorized as exercise and you seem to let one mishap mess up an entire week.

So What Does This Mean?

I’m not expert but this would seem to be a problem with a person’s way of thinking.  Whether you want to believe me or not before you will ever lose weight you are going to have to change the way you think.  The first step in fat or weight loss is not getting a gym membership, counting calories or even the food you eat.

Know instead the biggest battle you are going to face in the battle of losing weight is your mind.  It’s all about the way you perceive things to be and changing the way you view things.  Your current attitude and opinions about weight loss, dieting, exercising and activity has to be taken into account before you can move on.

It’s a Marathon Not a Sprint

The feelings and beliefs you have about eating healthy and fat loss have to be adjusted to realistic terms before anything else is even considered. Why, because losing weight and keeping it off is about a lifestyle change and is a long term commitment.  You have seen people lose weight and then in a few months they are back to gaining the weight again.

Is this how you feel?

Doing activities outside of the gym and being active doesn’t have to be negative or even boring.  But in order for it to work you have to change your views about them.  Instead of thinking of volleyball, running or swimming as working out think of them as things you enjoy doing (pick something you enjoy doing!)

When you are playing tennis or eating smaller portions think about how great you look and feel rather than focusing on the negative aspects.

You Owe Yourself That Much

The one thing you have to remember is that you first have to make a commitment to yourself and stick with it.  There is no need going to the gym if you are going to consistently go out with friends and over eat and drink empty calories.

Change 4 Life

You must be willing to make a commitment to yourself and let go all of the negative feelings you have about weight loss, calorie counting and working out.  Instead be positive and look at all the wonderful things that will come about from your new lifestyle.

Not only will you get stronger, feel better, and have more energy but you will look awesome!  You have to be realistic and not let roadblocks get you down.  We all have roadblocks but its how you deal with them that matters most.  Stay the course, be realistic, and most of all accept the fact that fat loss takes time and patience.

Everyone messes up but one “BAD” meal or day should not RUIN the ENTIRE week!

Men and Women Are Different When it Comes to Losing Weight

This is a little different than normal but the question seems to always come up as to whether it is easier for men to lose weight.  Honestly I have given this much thought and don’t find that to be the case.  Of course there are going to be people to agree and other that disagree but it’s something I must address.

Weight Loss for Women vs Men

You see I personally think that men are just simply fueled more to lose weight and have a stronger desire than most women to be in shape.  Does this mean that women don’t want to be in shape and have sexy bodies?  The answer is NO, but when you look at all the reasons men end up losing weight and actually keeping it off there is a big difference.

A Man’s #1 Reason for Losing Weight – WOMEN!

Most men I think will probably agree that nothing makes them want to lose weight and get a great body like a woman.  That’s right men want to look great so that women will think he’s sexy and it makes his confidence that much higher.  The fact is that almost everything men do in some regards is to gain some type of recognition from women. It’s just how we are built mentally!

From the cars we drive, the clothes we wear, and even the places we go are usually with one thing in mind and that’s to find that beautiful attractive woman.  For women on the other hand it’s not really the same.  It’s about how they feel and though they want to look sexy they are not going to go to the gym and kill themselves just to look good for men.

We Enjoy Things Most Women Consider Working Out

Let’s think about this for a moment.  Most women consider hanging out shopping, going to the movies, and having lunch with friends fun.  However a lot of women consider exercising and running to be strictly forms of working out and a weight loss process.  What you will find with men on the other hand is because of our competitive nature we play basketball, football, volleyball, and things of the like.

Woman Shopping

Though these things are fun men tend to spend hours outdoors doing some type of activity and thus are burning more calories.  I’m not saying that women don’t but what you will find is that the males and females that go surfing, play volleyball, football, skating, and jog for fun tend to be in better shape.

Many women consider anything that makes them sweat to be something that should be considered a workout.  And if she is already going to the gym why should she be working out again when she could be having fun doing something else?

This is Just Part 1 of the Post

Sorry but I don’t want this to be entirely too long so I am breaking this into 2 separate posts.  Plus I want to hear what others think and this may help me write up the second part of my article.  I really want to get your input on this.

I wrote this post on my experiences with friends, clients, and even the interaction I have with my wife when it comes to her working out and staying in shape.  Feel free to give you input comments are always welcome.  Also look out for the FREE e-book that I should be offering soon to my site visitors.
