At Work Weight Gain – How Your Job Is Making You Fat

When women are at home they seem to have their diets under control, however at work weight gain seems to another beast.  Many women find that they are losing the battle at the place they spend most of their time during the week.  Usually 40+ hours of work and several meals later the pounds just keep adding up every week.

The food may be great and you think you have it under control but the reality is the your job is simply making you fat.  You are doing everything right at home but you are killing your weight loss at work.

What Is Happening

Well here is some of the biggest problems and they start with bagel Monday’s and potluck Friday’s.  You see everywhere you turn someone is bringing unhealthy fatty foods to work and everyone feels compelled to eat them.  From homemade cakes and cookies to pizza at the meetings the workplace is causing a serious problem with your dieting and weight loss.

It Starts At Home

While the battle my start at home with making sure you have everything you need to cook dinner and make it through the weekend the war is won at work.   No matter how well you do at home you are not going to win the battle of losing weight if you continue to over eat at work.  Your weight loss is a process of 24 hours and sadly a majority of that is spent at work.

I’m All for Enjoying Foods

Anyone who knows me or reads my post knows I am all for eating the foods you like.  I eat cookies, pizza, cake and other delicious treats however I do it while still eating fewer calories than I need daily.  You can enjoy a slice of pizza or a cookie but do you really need to have them every day and are you just getting one slice of pizza or just one cookie?  Chances are that you probably aren’t and this is hurting you more than you think.

Small Changes Make a Big Difference

Consider this, do you really need to have food at every meeting or someone bring breakfast to work every other day?  Cutting out these unhealthy meal choices at work can save value amount of calories which lead to helping the fight against weight gain.  Also find better places for you and your girlfriends or co-workers to eat.  A lot of times the quickest places to grab something to eat on lunch also can contain the most calories.

Help Others to Help Yourself

I am sure that you are not alone with your battle in trying to lose weight.  If you have people at work who are trying to lose weight bringing treats to work may be offensive to them.  Remember everyone needs a little help and you are not helping anyone’s cause by bringing cinnamon buns or doughnuts to work just as they are not helping you.
